Week 10 Poem

Secret Information

Would you like to know a secret?

Well, I'll tell you one I know:
The Easter's Bunny's coming,
My mama told me so.

He'll bring a basket filled with eggs

And leave it in my yard,
And I will find it Easter morn,
If I look very hard.

I shouldn't tell my secret,

But I think it should be shared.
You ought to know that Bunny's coming,
So you can be prepared!

What are the rhyming words in this poem??

Well Done!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ABBI!!

Abbi is the Wai learner in our class this term.
She is always helping out others because she is a team player.
She is always looking on the blog and asking questions because she is curious.
Abbi is always working hard in class and at home, because she is motivated.
You will always see Abbi with a smile on because she is happy.
Great work Abbi, what a great term you have had.

Kiwiana Celebration

Yesterday we had a celebration of what we had been learning about this term...Kiwiana & being proud to be a Kiwi. We dressed up in things that show we are a Kiwi and had a shared lunch. Our whole learning team went over to the hall and we had a parade of everyone who was dressed up and then we sang some New Zealand songs. After this we went back to our classes for a shared lunch with out parents. We had Kiwiana food...there was Marmite on toast, savs, Kiwifruit and pineapple lump kebabs, pavlovas and lot of other yummy treats. We all had lots of
fun and it was a great way to end our topic.

Kiwiana

Certain things that are unique to New Zealand or are quite common are called Kiwiana.
We have been looking at this for our home learning this week.
Leave a comment with some things that you think are Kiwiana.

Week 9 Poem

What I Found in My Desk

A ripe peach with an ugly bruise,
A pair of stinky tennis shoes,
a day-old-ham-and-cheese on rye
a swimsuit that I left to dry,
a pencil that glows in the dark,
some bubble gum found in the park,
a paper bag with cookie crumbs,
an old kazoo that barely hums,
a spelling test I almost failed,
a letter that I should have mailed,
and one more thing, I must confess,
a note from teacher: Clean This Mess!!!!
